Antique Japanese Porcelain Blue White Ko Imari Kraak Klapmuts Bowl Dish 1700's. A very nice example of the early 1700's Edo period. A very interesting blue and white'Kraak' aka'Klapmuts' style bowl.
The Japanese modeled this after the Chinese Ming Export that the Dutch imported to Europe in the 1600's. It is six sided with coin pattern separating wedge shapes of alternating' WAN' diaper and crosses and boxes diaper patterns above a wide band of blue joining all six parts, surrounding a central panel of three orchids with coins at their centers with a' MON' samurai family crest of' TAKEDA' family history.
The back is decorated with the more traditional Kraak style patterning of panels and lozenges. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, there are flaws from in the making, glaze creep, bubble bursts, typical of these Early Edo wares as pictured in photos. 6 1/8" across and 2" tall.
